Job Description:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Materials Manager will be directly responsible for the planners-production and purchasing, The Materials Manager will also be responsible for effectively managing cross-functional relationships with other departments to support effective materials usage, flow, and outside supplier product needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Optimize the balance between supply availability, inventory investment, as well as cost and risk of obsolescence. Forecast, and then develop plans, measures, and controls for establishing levels of materials, components, and product stored at suppliers for outside processing.
• Directs and coordinates the plant SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process, Master Scheduling, and Production Planning
• Ensuring import compliance (HTS designations, international logistics)
• Implementing and maintaining best-in-class master planning practices
• Optimizing planning processes to ensure efficient use of production and purchasing resources.
• Responsible for establishing internal logistics plan and material delivery system/routes.
• Responsible to maintain and coordinate activities to ensure vital plant metrics, including but not limited to; Customer On-time delivery, Backlog, Days on Hand inventory, and past due Work Orders/Schedules.
• Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives for the Supply Chain staff.
• Implement policies and procedures, as necessary.
• Develop and present presentations. Present and collaborate in person and virtually.

WORKING CONDITIONS/EXPOSURES:

• Working conditions are primarily in a climate-controlled, office setting with occasional time spent in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
• Employees are expected to maintain their work area in a neat, clean, orderly, and safe manner.
• Minimal travel required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Extended computer use (sitting, typing, use of mouse, and viewing screen).

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

Competent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Power Bi).

Thorough knowledge of ERP/MP, international logistics and ISO 9000

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field required.
In lieu of a degree, additional equivalent experience in a related industry may be considered.

APICS, ASCM, or other supply chain certification preferred.
Knowledge and/or certification in Lean and Six Sigma principles preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

At least five years of experience in Supply Chain including at least two years of supervisory/leadership experience required.
Ten or more years of Supply Chain experience with three or more years of leadership experience preferred.
A combination of years of experience, advanced education, and industry-specific training and experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum requirement.
