Your Role: Operator – Packaging

As an Operator - Packaging at Elanco, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process of our farm and companion animal products. You will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, contributing to production goals while adhering to safety, quality, and compliance standards. Your work will directly impact the production of high-quality animal health products, supporting Elanco’s mission to improve animal health and enhance animal production globally.

This posting will offer a one-time sign on bonus of $2,500!

Your Responsibilities:


  • Operate various production equipment such as compactors, forklifts, and sampling tools to support the manufacturing process


  • Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and environmental standards throughout all production tasks


  • Accurately document and verify production data, including batch records and equipment logs, to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance


  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety guidelines, wearing required PPE, and performing daily housekeeping to ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area


  • Collaborate with team members across departments to address operational issues, improve quality, and meet production targets


What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):


  • Education: High School Diploma / GED (or equivalent experience)


  • Required Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is beneficial but not required; strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities are preferred


  • Top 2 skills: Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation, excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in production and compliance


What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):


  • Certification in the use of forklifts, Skid Loaders, Ariel Lifts, and other industrial equipment (depending on departmental needs)


  • Previous experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (cGMP or similar)


  • Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lb. packages


  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment


  • Experience working with a team to meet quality, safety, and production goals


Additional Information:


  • Location: Clinton, IN Manufacturing Site


  • 12-hour rotating day shifts; shifts are approximately 4:45 am to 5:00 pm


  • Work Environment: The position may require working in outdoor or non-climate-controlled areas during certain conditions. You will be expected to assist in maintaining the site’s inspection readiness and engage in continuous learning through training and departmental initiatives.


This position is a fixed duration employee with a one-year contract, annually renewable for up to 4 years with a potential for a full-time position, based on individual performance and business needs.
