Posted in Other 4 days ago.

Job Description:

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

This is a 10-week, project-based internship where you'll gain hands-on HR experience while working cross-functionally within local departments, branches, and JAS offices around the globe. As an HR intern, you will explore key aspects of human resources operations and strategy, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, learning and development, and HR compliance.

This opportunity offers regular interaction with diverse stakeholders, helping to foster a deep understanding of how HR supports and drives global business operations. You'll have the chance to gain exposure and job shadow in various HR functions, such as workforce planning, training, benefits administration, and performance management. By participating in this internship, you'll develop a comprehensive understanding of how HR partners with business units to attract, retain, and develop top talent, all while contributing to JAS's role as a global industry leader.

What to Expect

This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive view of the logistics industry, with all work conducted in a professional, climate-controlled office environment. You'll engage in learning, shadowing, and project work that culminates in a capstone presentation to JAS leadership.

Set your course with JAS Worldwide, where your curiosity and innovation will help shape the future of global logistics.

We're seeking two motivated HR Interns to assist with key projects that will drive compliance, talent alignment, and leadership engagement. Each intern will work on one of the following unique project scopes:

Project Scope #1: Job Description Compliance & Alignment

This project focuses on evaluating and updating job descriptions (JDs) to ensure they align with accurate qualification requirements, responsibilities, and compliance standards. Working closely with the HR Compliance Manager and utilizing tools like Workday and MS Suite, the intern will help standardize JDs, support accurate job postings to attract top talent, and assist with the creation of job levels within roles.

Key challenges include managing the large quantity of JDs and aligning with leadership to accurately reflect the roles and responsibilities. This project is ideal for an intern with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, who's eager to gain hands-on experience in HR compliance and job structuring.

Intern Project #2: Design Succession Plan & Talent Review Process

The second project aims to design and implement a structured annual succession planning and talent review process. The intern will help with the building out of a standardized plan for HR to partner with local leaders annually to identify and review top talent within the organization. This includes developing a communication plan, creating templates and trackers (such as a 9-box matrix), and designing methods to track the training and development of identified talent.

Key challenges include leading change management efforts to help guild leaders on the purpose and process ("the why & how") and manually setting up tracking systems without dedicated software. This project is perfect for an intern passionate about talent management, process design, and leadership development.
