What will your job look like?
The Mobility Manager (which will be hired as the job title “Manager, Travel Training”) is responsible for hiring, training and supervising the support staff within the travel training program. The Manager, Travel Training is also responsible for community outreach/marketing, presentations to agencies and community fairs, group presentations and outing, pre-training assessments for individual trainees, route planning and delivering individualized training to customers.
Location: 3333 South Market Street Redding, CA 96001 (hybrid option)
What you’ll do:
Lead team of direct reports including but not limited to: Travel Trainers, Orientation and Mobility Specialists, Eligibility Assistant, Eligibility Specialist, and CSR staff
Partner with the Training team to create new hire orientation and training materials for Travel Trainers
Provide initial orientation and training to new staff members
Conduct outreach and outreach presentations
Respond to any Travel Training issues or complaints and properly document response
Build rapport and communicate with family and natural support network of the individual
Act as liaison between Travel Training department and the transit agency
Provide ongoing training and support to personnel; in the field and in the classroom
Ensure full compliance with the contract including documentation and reporting
Ensure all Travel Training documentation is both complete on paper and electronically
Provide backup coverage of Travel Training duties including assessment, field training and follow-up
Conduct group training
Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with staff, participants and their caregivers
Provide high quality customer service
Create documents, work plans, and accurate reports in a timely manner, as needed
What you’ll need:
Experience, Education & Certifications:
H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Orientation and Mobility Instruction, or a related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum of two years of Management experience
Minimum of two years of experience working with people with a range of disabilities
Experience conducting information-gathering or functional interviews and/or assessments
Skills:
Knowledge of ADA regulations and sensitivity to issues relating to people with disabilities and older adults
Demonstrated experience in interviewing and providing ongoing assessment of customers with various types of disabilities
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities
Experience working with disability and/or community advocacy organizations
Strong interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships
Intermediate level of proficiency or above with Microsoft Office Suite products
Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of employees, external and internal stakeholders, customers and vendors
Ability to work flexible hours in all weather conditions
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

Min Salary: $65,440/annually
Max Salary: $72,000/annually
