The business development representative is a sales professional responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities for a company by researching potential clients, qualifying leads, establishing initial relationships with prospective customers, and passing qualified leads to the sales team to further develop and close deals, ultimately contributing to the company's revenue growth and client base expansion; often utilizing cold calling, email outreach, and networking strategies to reach potential customers. This role will represent the company at tradeshows, engage with prospects and effectively communicate value proposition, including follow up with leads prost-event to quality round and nurture through the sales funnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Assists in business development and strategy for SSI product placement in written articles in industry publications.
Contacts a set number or more prospects and clients per month by phone and email.
Researches and qualifies new business leads and accounts generated from marketing campaigns and events
Be the SSI brand ambassador at healthcare industry events including tradeshows, conferences and webinars. You will play a crucial role in showcasing our products, generating leads, and creating memorable experiences for attendees.
Help with tradeshow or event setup, exhibit booth management, and teardown to ensure a smooth experience.
Utilize social media or event technology to promote live demos and drive booth traffic.
Represent the brand with professionalism, enthusiasm, and in-depth product knowledge.
Conduct engaging and persuasive product demonstrations that highlight key features and benefits
Responds to inbound website and phone inquiries. Qualifies and nurtures sales to appointment setting and handoff stages with sales leaders by using deductive and inductive reasoning skills as well as negotiating through initial objections.
Manages transition process from lead to the appropriate internal resources within the sales team.
Supports sales leadership opportunities through appointment setting and opportunity nurture as requested by the sales leaders.
Understands the SSI Solutions Portfolio and Value Proposition in order to effectively answer questions about products and pricing.
Communicates with individuals at all levels of the organization, both internal and external, but primarily the revenue cycle and finance leadership.
Reports market trends to sales, product management, marketing, and management to help with forecasting future win success.
Performs Salesforce.com contact and account clean up tasks as needed to optimize the contact database
Documents and manages all procedures and processes in CRM database.
Creates reports as needed to share lead and opportunity progression
Adheres to the company's attendance policy.
Acts as a positive role model in all aspects of professional performance.
Observes safety procedures and personnel policies.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive or similar role
Demonstrate hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques, including cold calls, nurture emails, and event follow up.
Demonstrate a track record of achieving sales quotas and understanding sales performance metrics.
Possesses excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
Must exhibit strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel.
Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of SSI products.
Must be skillful in social perception to be aware of others' reactions and how to navigate those reactions, especially when not in person.
Must be skillful in-service orientation in order to always be looking for ways to provide helpful solutions.
