Join a passionate team of engineers who are truly making a difference in the lives of people! As the Senior Systems Engineer - Interoperability (Partner Integrations), you'll be the key liaison for integrating Dexcom CGM systems with our partner companies. You will act as a bridge across Dexcom internal teams and our partner's engineering teams, to ensure a safe, accurate and intuitive system. Where you come in:
You will define, document, and maintain comprehensive system and interface requirements specifications that establish and manage the interface boundary, aligning with system-level requirements and Dexcom's core technology for interoperable CGM-insulin delivery systems.
You will work closely with our Partner companies proactively, understanding their system requirements, foreseeing integration challenges and resolving them promptly.
You will manage requirements traceability and conduct thorough reviews using industry-standard tools like Jama Connect. You'll be the gatekeeper of completeness, clarity, and consistency throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through product release and maintenance.
You will develop and document detailed interface requirements and specifications between Dexcom CGM systems and partner devices, focusing on a clear understanding of system-of-systems interactions.
You will develop use-cases for partner integrations, working closely with user experience teams to understand and document partner workflows.
You will collaborate with software, firmware, and test engineers to develop comprehensive test plans and cases, ensuring all documented requirements are validated across the integrated system. For the Software elements, you will develop and maintain the software requirements specifications (SRS).
You will generate and maintain verification trace matrices and master trace matrices, meticulously documenting end-to-end traceability from initial requirements to final test cases.
You'll champion Systems Engineering best practices, advocating for and implementing rigorous processes, particularly for interoperability and partner integrations, across the team and departments.
You will support the verification and validation activities, ensuring that the interoperable system meets regulatory requirements and safety standards.
You will support design and architecture diagrams and specifications that enable partner integration.
What makes you successful:
You possess a deep understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices, particularly as they relate to complex system integration, data flow, and interoperability, with a strong understanding of system-of-systems concepts.
You have demonstrated experience in developing, documenting, and managing system-level requirements and specifications, especially for interoperable systems, including detailed interface requirements.
You are familiar with BLE architecture, mobile application development for both Android and iOS platforms. You have experience with lab measurements, characterization, debugging.
You are a master collaborator, effortlessly working with engineers from various disciplines, including mechanical, software, test engineering, and regulatory affairs.
You are a clear and concise communicator, confidently conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, including partner engineering teams.
Your leadership shines through as you influence and guide cross-functional teams (both internal and partner) in adopting best-in-class systems engineering practices and ensuring successful integration.
You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, readily adapting to evolving needs and working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
You are a problem solver and can analyze complex system interactions to identify and address potential integration issues.
Nice to haves:
You may hold an INCOSE Associate or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP/CSEP) certification or any other relevant Requirements Engineer certification.
You have experience working directly with external partners or vendors on technical integration projects.
Your expertise could include proficiency in using Jama, Jira; data and statistical analysis tools like Excel and JMP.
You might possess strong coding/scripting skills in languages such as Python, Perl, Shell, and Unix.
You have a good understanding of diabetes therapy, insulin pumps, and CGM systems.

Experience and Education Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5- 8 years related experience or Master's degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.
