Summary of Position: The human resources coordinator provides full, first point-of-contact Human Resources support to company employees and a variety of Human Resources functions.
Handles employee relations related questions and issues at HR front desk.
Documents conversations with employees and communicates issues and concerns to HR Manager.
Serves as liaison to operations supervisors and managers for follow up with employee issues.
Forwards employee concerns to payroll, benefits, or safety as needed for area-specific follow up.
Participates in general administrative duties including maintaining data integrity in all HR software programs, ordering and tracking of employee uniforms, safety shoe orders and other administrative tasks as needed.
Works on special projects and reporting as needed to support HR, payroll, benefits, recruitment and safety department initiatives.
Works with security access software to create badges for employees, temporary employees and JBSS contractors.
Manages I-9 and work authorization compliance for new hires and existing JBSS employees.
Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.
Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety.
Responsible for supporting safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards and conducting safety observations as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
High school diploma required.
Associate degree preferred.
Three plus years of administrative experience required.
Exposure to human resources, accounts payable or office organization preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Skills and Competencies:
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Experience with Microsoft Project preferred.
Flexible skills in working with operations staff.
Solid phone skills.
Strong math aptitude.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Job Specific Requirements:
In the event that the Human Resources Coordinator is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
