We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This position reports to the Manufacturing Finance and Cost Accounting Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of cost data and inventory valuation within our financial systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in financial accounting, experience in fast-paced environments, and the ability to implement and maintain scalable, controlled processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and enhancement of costing processes and systems to improve financial reporting and operational decision-making.
Prepare and assist in setting standard costs of manufactured goods.
Conduct variance analysis, identifying discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions.
Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate tracking of material, labor, and overhead costs.
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including physical counts, journal entries, and inventory reconciliation.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP.
Perform data cleanup in financial systems related to inventory and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Establish and maintain systems for ensuring accurate Bill of Materials.
Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in accounting; experience with Big Four firms is a plus.
Strong understanding of standard full accounting processes.
Direct experience with financial systems, manufacturing systems, general ledger, standardized cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting (SAP preferred).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
Basic knowledge of and interest in supply chain/manufacturing.
