Machine Operator Support Associate
As a Machine Operator Support Assistant, you will work closely with Machine Operators to ensure the smooth, efficient, and safe performance of filling and packaging utilizing mechanical equipment to mix and mill high consistency Liquid Silicone Rubber to desired customer specifications.
The ideal candidate for the Machine Operator Support Assistant position would be technically proficient, solution-oriented, collaborative, safety-conscious, and adaptable to the demands of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Machine Operators with machine setup and preparation, filling, and packaging process, tend to filling system needs like, loading raw materials, loading pallets, unloading packaged materials, and providing secondary support to Machine Operators for production runs.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor machines during operation and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Safely operate multiple types of equipment, sit-down forklift, pail/drum handling equipment, pumps, and other related equipment when required.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
Keep accurate records of production activities, including machine downtime and maintenance schedules.
Learn and understand basic customer requirements for packaging, and finished appearance.
Collaborate with team members to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment including ensuring that all safety equipment is readily available and that all guards are in place.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate workflow and tasks.
Provide training and support to new machine operators as needed.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and orderly manner, drive Lean 5S initiative throughout the facility with emphasis on production run transition.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
One + years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills
Ability to work efficiently in a demanding environment
Ability to work with WMS/ERP software
Ability to operate material handling equipment
Excellent diligence and accuracy
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Willingness to learn and adapt to innovative technologies and processes
Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping
Ability to work in a production setting for 8+ hours at a time and able to carry, lift, move, or push 50lbs to shoulder height repetitively
Stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
Use hands and fingers to operate machinery and equipment
