Job Summary
The Advising and Major Exploration Services (AMES) Advising Receptionist will assist with New Student Orientation (June 2 - 18, July 1 - 23, August 14 - 20). Receptionists will have the following responsibilities:
Department Specific Responsibilities
Greets students.
Alerts Advising to a student's arrival using an electronic check-in system.
Directs students to the appropriate advising and registration centers on multiple floors of the Herman B Wells Library.
Directs non-students to appropriate waiting areas in the Herman B Wells Library.
Guides students to their next step in the Orientation process.
Performs a variety of other clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
SKILLS
Required
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Polite, respectful, friendly, and welcoming demeanor
Ability to work well with diverse clientele
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy interactive environment with frequent interruptions
Computer experience including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook

$10.15 - $12.00 per hour

Amount of Hours: 4 - 29 hours/week
