Job Summary



In Datacenter Operations, it is our goal to ensure that the datacenter and all of its contents are safe and secure with consistent and stable power and cooling 24/7/365. We monitor every system in the building from the operations center and provide an instant response to any problems or issues that may arise.


General Responsibilities


  • Performs daily operational tasks of the data center.

  • Communicates service information and provides technical expertise relating to the automation of Operations processes for both distributed and virtual server environments.

  • Performs technical tasks of monitoring building infrastructure, networks, servers and storage environments of the data centers.

  • Provides technical support of the installation, deployment, maintenance and customization of production enterprise applications.

  • Participates in the technical assessment of hardware to ensure that the organization keeps pace with emerging technologies as it pertains to the data center.

  • Writes specialized routines, codes computer programs; develops program module test procedures, creates reports, generates required test data files, and executes testing procedures.

  • Performs appropriate monitoring of the data center infrastructure components (i.e. CRAC, chillers, UPS, generators etc.).

  • Collaborates with other units to align system requirements, set timelines, priorities and proposals.

  • Backs up data and ensures system security.

EDUCATION



Required



  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science or related field)

WORK EXPERIENCE



Preferred



  • Experience with the following software tools:

    • D-Series Scheduling software for our batch production scheduling needs

    • VESDA fire and smoke detection

    • Siemens Desigo Building Automation software

    • Fire and sprinkler system controls

    • Door access controls and software - CSGOLD

    • WhatsUpGold for individual system monitoring

    • EPMS for electrical power monitoring or all the equipment

    • Microsoft Office

    • Microsoft Teams

Working Conditions / Demands



This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
