Why your role is essential
We are looking for motivated individuals to help with our shipping department. This is a manual labor position that is essential to making sure trucks are loaded with quality product by their specific route. Loaders must possess a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
Job Overview:
Maneuver vehicles into correct position for loading/unloading
Package materials including glass, metal and hardware and labeling packages for shipment
Load truck until completed by route specified
Secure loads appropriately in trucks
Look up items that need assembly or assignment and ensure they are delivered to correct location
Coordinate duties with shipping supervisor and coworkers
Clean surrounding area and make sure all routes are clean and organized
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Employees at OBE are expected to have regular and predictable attendance, work independently with little direct supervision, aptitude to learn and understand and willingness to cross-train in other areas as required.
Lift up to 75 pounds
Ability to lift, bend, twist, walk, and reach frequently
Ability to stand and walk on concrete floor for eight hours or more
Ability to wear company-issued PPE such as safety shirt, hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protection
Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high.
Ability to work in varied temperatures
Must be at least 18 years old
