Job Responsibilities:
JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist with set up and operation hot stamping lines to produce quality products that meet or exceed customer requirements.
Assist Hot Stamp Operator with set-up and operation of hot stamp lines and tooling to attain good First Off part
Follow procedures per Inspection Data Sheets including First Off and Last Off, packaging instructions, tagging and labeling
Perform quality inspections using check fixtures and visual inspection
Complete Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and all production reporting as required
Help ensure that line runs at an acceptable machine rate (pieces per hour)
Assist Hot Stamp Operator with Preventive Maintenance on hot stamping equipment in coordination with Maintenance Technicians
Assist Hot Stamp Operator with troubleshooting machine, die, furnace, robot, and material problems to improve quality and reduce scrap
Assist fellow team members with line changeovers
Participate in Continuous Improvement activities which improve safety, efficiency, and/or reduce waste
Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
1-3 years manufacturing experience required
Press Operator training and experience preferred
Some machine shop education preferred
Prior machine set-up & operation experience (press or other set-up of equipment)
Basic understanding of integrated machinery (robotics, conveyors, furnace, press)
SKILLS
Observe all safety regulations to ensure own and others' safety
Assist Hot Stamp Operator to adjust machine settings per set-up procedures
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to visually inspect product
Ability to use precise measuring equipment to ensure dimensional conformity
Basic math skills required
Excellent teamwork skills required
Ability to complete Inspection Data Sheets with math data
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent required
TECHNICAL EDUCATION:
Basic math skills, SPC (Statistical Process Control) preferred but not required; training on specific machine settings, tagging, labeling, inspection, destruct, and packaging procedures specific to the assigned work cell
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Continuous standing: frequent lifting up to 40 lbs., though most parts weigh less than 20lbs. each
Reaching to access parts in dies and presses; bending; good hand-eye coordination; occasional stooping
100% visual inspection of finished goods and completed components; gross and fine motor skills required
Compliance with personal protective equipment requirements and company safety rules
Small hand tools, calculator, mop, broom, and bucket.
