About the Role
Join our innovative team as a Senior Staff System Engineer for Thermal Cameras! In this exciting role, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge thermal image sensing cameras for automotive applications. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth system requirements analysis and designing robust system architectures. Additionally, you will enhance thermal camera functionalities and support comprehensive thermal camera evaluations. Be a part of shaping the future of automotive technology with your expertise in thermal imaging solutions!
Your Responsibilities
Review and analyze product requirements (includes requirements from customer and supplier) and decompose the requirements to the lower level engineering (Firmware, Functions, BSW, etc.)
Develops and maintains the system architecture for the thermal camera system
Perform data analysis on test results using various tools
Perform/ support vehicle and product tests
Perform and support the thermal camera testing in the vehicle and bench
Produce and modify conducted test reports for internal and customer requirements.
Conduct problem solving with identified issues in various testing setups and respective products.
Develop test plan and test cases for vehicle and product tests
Execute vehicle product demonstrations and record results using special equipped test vehicles.
Develop test SW or modify/ augment previously developed SW using Python or C++.
Who we are looking for
Education
Minimum bachelor's degree in physics, Engineering, or equivalent
Master's/PhD degree is a plus
Experience
8 years of experience in development of Thermal cameras/longwave IR sensors and comparable experience in automotive; electronic industry
Proficiency in Matlab/C++
Data analysis tools
V-Model development process
Strong problem-solving capabilities
Experience in Linear Algebra is a plus
Technical Knowledge
Track record of developing algorithm for the thermal camera features from concept to implementation in production program.
Expertise in model-based algorithm development using Matlab/C++ (or equivalent) tools.
Knowledge of product development engineering practices in automotive field.
Proven ability to solve more complex problems involving support of expert network.
Working knowledge in structured engineering approach.
Makes complex technical decisions and drives implementation.
Influence product line in product/feature roadmap development and in determining market technology needs.
Mentors and coaches engineers as well as peers in field of expertise across division.
Engages with the business to understand and develop solutions to address emerging business needs.
Contributes to IP strategy in field fo expertise.
Contributes to roadmap/standards definition with industry partners.
