Job Description:
Objective
The Assistant Superintendent in Heavy Civil Construction supports the Superintendent in overseeing and managing construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. This role involves coordinating with various teams, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality control throughout the construction process.
Job Responsibilities
Assist the Superintendent in planning, scheduling, and supervising construction activities.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and onsite personnel to ensure project milestones are met.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Assist in resolving any issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress, and any changes to the project scope.
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and architects.
Support the Superintendent in managing project budgets and resources efficiently.
Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulation
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites
Ability to work in outdoor environments and navigate construction sites.
Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed.
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as required by project demands
The role involves working on construction sites, which may include exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and heavy machinery.
