Assembles sub systems using several tools, gages, devices, Loctite, liquid nitrogen and lubricants Leak-testing of cubic parts with several different processes and technologies
Compile workpieces, cubic engine components and material according to parts specifications, and check and report on defects Read and interpret assembly blueprints, specifications manuals and plan assembly.
Verify conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometers, fixed and telescoping gauges, templates and fixtures, and adjust according to quality control plan
Position and align components for assembly with and into larger mounting elements using various equipment and verify parts clearances.
Test larger mounting elements for quality assurance and record results according to type, quantity and frequency Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies.
Report disruptions (e.g. tolerance deviations, break-down, wrong parts, leakage) that cannot be remedied to the appropriate quality/machining group Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to MTU specifications.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Identify and reduce non-value-added work.
Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in other production related areas
Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
Qualifications:
2 years in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent Associates Degree and 3 years of experience in a durable goods assembly or manufacturing environment; or 5 years of experience in a durable goods assembly or manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
Knowledge of MTU products, policies and procedures.
Ability to obtain appropriate hoists and power vehicle licenses (Flatbed, Hi-Lo, & Mule) when necessary
Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods Intermediate knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Intermediate
Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards.
Intermediate troubleshooting and problem-solving skill's Intermediate ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications.
Intermediate ability to interpret control plans, blueprints, build documents, schematic drawings, layouts, documents regarding engine assembly and testing and quality requirements (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc.)
Intermediate organizational, planning and follow-up skills and the ability to cope with stress Intermediate interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other employees in a team atmosphere Intermediate oral and written communication skills Intermediate reading, writing and math skills Intermediate.
