1. Plan, direct, and monitor activities of Operative Purchasing, and coordinate delivery process with supply base to ensure goals are accomplished
2. Direct activities of all functions involved in operative purchasing, warehousing and control of materials from the receipt of forecasting needs to the delivery to the warehouse, plant and throughout production.
3. Manage inventory and establish controls to ensure RRPS is operating at the highest levels based on KPI and minimized supply chain risk.
4. Develop strategies, policies, procedures, and overall team to optimize value of the entire Materials Department in creating a world class material management group.
5. Approve and plan expediting needs for MTU America/RRPS production and After Sales and align material requirements with the parent company MTU Friedrichshafen/RRPS in Germany including development and implementation of supply strategies.
6. Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks).
7. Ensure on time delivery of material to meet customer and MTU America/RRPS production and After Sales needs.
8. Develop and implement cost reduction and cost avoidance ideas
9. Represent MTU America/RRPS in meetings with parent company, customers, vendors and industry groups. Build positive relationships that support MTU America's/RRPS business interests.
10. Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence. Establish annual goals and objectives (including stretch targets) in coordination with corporate.
11. Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions, leading & growing the material management team.
12. Help maintain a clean and safe work environment
13. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of conduct.
14. Perform special projects as required.



Qualifications:



1. Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Supply Chain Management and 5 years of experience in supply chain management; or 9 years of experience in supply chain management.
2. Experience supervising/managing Hourly and Salary Teams
3. Proven Leadership skills
4. Excellent knowledge of production planning, supply chain, materials management, warehousing/logistics
5. Excellent knowledge of computer applications and/or controlled systems
6. Excellent negotiation skills
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability when situations are very complex


8. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
9. Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
10. Strong organizational, planning and follow-up skills
11. Strong oral and written communication skills
12. Strong presentation skills
13. Proficient PC and MS Office Suite
14. Must be available to work flexible hours
15. Ability to travel - domestic and international



Preferred:



1. Knowledge of MTU products, policies and procedures
2. Off-Highway diesel engine product knowledge
3. SAP experience
4. Foreign language skills - German
5. MBA or advanced business degree
