Job Title: Configuration Management Specialist, Linux Reports To: Lead Software Engineer Job Location: Vista, CA Salary: $118,000 - $122,000 /annually Job Type: Direct Hire Job Type: 100% Onsite
Schedule: Monday - Thursday. Friday's are half days. Schedule can be: 6am - 4pm; 7am - 5pm; or 8am- 6pm. Some nights may have mandatory meetings
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and compile customized Linux distributions for company products based on application requirements, including integrating required packages as part of distribution.
Document build process for repetition by outside entities.
Devise and implement security strategies based on application requirements and current threats.
Troubleshoot integration and performance issues.
Integrate and test drivers for peripheral hardware.
General Linux support.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with kernel development and embedded Linux bootloaders.
Knowledge of embedded Linux, device drivers, USB and TCP/IP.
Working knowledge of Linux and shell scripting tools (sh, ksh, bash).
Experience with Java installation and configuration on Linux systems.
Database and web services administration (Apache, MySQL and Tomcat).
Strong understanding of Linux Security.
Java programming experience is a plus but not required.
EDUCATION
2-5 years Linux support/system administration experience.
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent
