Job Title: Configuration Management Specialist, Linux
Reports To: Lead Software Engineer
Job Location: Vista, CA
Salary: $118,000 - $122,000 /annually
Job Type: Direct Hire
Job Type: 100% Onsite



Schedule: Monday - Thursday. Friday's are half days.
Schedule can be: 6am - 4pm; 7am - 5pm; or 8am- 6pm.
Some nights may have mandatory meetings



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define and compile customized Linux distributions for company products based on application requirements, including integrating required packages as part of distribution.


• Document build process for repetition by outside entities.


• Devise and implement security strategies based on application requirements and current threats.


• Troubleshoot integration and performance issues.


• Integrate and test drivers for peripheral hardware.


• General Linux support.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with kernel development and embedded Linux bootloaders.


• Knowledge of embedded Linux, device drivers, USB and TCP/IP.


• Working knowledge of Linux and shell scripting tools (sh, ksh, bash).


• Experience with Java installation and configuration on Linux systems.


• Database and web services administration (Apache, MySQL and Tomcat).


• Strong understanding of Linux Security.


• Java programming experience is a plus but not required.

EDUCATION

• 2-5 years Linux support/system administration experience.


• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent
