Ledgent is partnering with a dynamic and fast-paced company looking for an experienced Collections Specialist to join the team. This is a temp to hire opportunity working 100% in office. The company is located in North Houston.
Position Overview:
As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and improving our accounts receivable process. You will leverage your expertise in collections, advanced Excel functions, and critical thinking to ensure accurate and timely payments, resolve outstanding balances, and drive improvements in our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of accounts and ensure timely collections of outstanding invoices.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable, working closely with clients and internal teams.
Perform detailed analysis of accounts and aging reports to prioritize collections efforts.
Utilize advanced Excel functions (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF) to track and analyze collections data.
Negotiate payment arrangements with clients and escalate issues when necessary.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collections activities.
Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, finance, and customer service to address payment issues.
Provide regular updates and reports on collections performance to management.
Qualifications:
7-10 years of experience in collections or a similar financial role.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIF.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
Critical thinker with the ability to identify root causes and find creative solutions.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
Experience with accounts receivable software and financial systems is a plus.
