We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Accountant with tax compliance expertise to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting upper management in managing and ensuring compliance with various taxes, including income tax, sales tax, and other indirect taxes. The role will also involve collaborating with Big 4 firms to provide necessary tax information and support. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in general accounting principles and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and US tax regulations.
Responsibilities:
General Accounting:
Assist in preparing, examining, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
Assist in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data and reports by conducting regular audits and reconciliations of accounts
Assist in managing the general ledger and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions
Support the preparation of month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks and reports
Monitor and ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures
Tax Compliance:
Assist in preparing and filing various tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other indirect tax filings
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels, including identifying and analyzing tax implications of business decisions
Support the timely and accurate payment of all taxes owed
Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax records and documentation, including supporting documentation for tax returns and tax provision calculations
Collaborate with Big 4 tax preparer to provide necessary support and data for income tax filings, including providing timely and accurate financial data and answering any questions related to tax filings
Collaborate with a CPA to file indirect tax, including providing necessary support and data for indirect tax filings
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and present regular financial reports and analysis to management and stakeholders, including providing insights and recommendations to support business decision-making
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
Collaborate with other departments to provide necessary financial data and insights to support business activities, including assisting with budgeting and forecasting
Be adaptable and open to taking on Ad-Hoc projects and tasks as they arise, including special projects related to finance and accounting
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
At least 10 years of experience in corporate tax management, including experience with income tax and sales tax
Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and US tax regulations
Experience with ERP(SAP) and accounting software, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
