Supervises and coordinates the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing process, while balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve optimum performance.
Responsibilities/Duties
Develops a high-performance work team with high levels of employee engagement, morale, satisfaction, and performance.
Maintains a high level of visibility with employees. Uses hands-on approach to communicate daily and involve employees in problem solving.
Manages department's Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) as they apply to the department performance and reports performance measures to leaders and designated parties.
Collaborates and coordinates with other functional areas of the organization to ensure the highest quality product is being produced and maintains effective production operations.
Maintains production results by coaching and counseling employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Provides training and other tools/resources to employees in order to ensure the success of the company.
Supports and fosters an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging employees to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation.
Actively takes the role of leadership in the area of responsibility and reinforces the company's policies.
Responsible for the timely and accurate flow of time off for employees, payroll, and attendance transactions.
Maintains a clean and organized working environment using the 5-S model.
On time completion of all team performance reviews.
Actively participates in and supports all safety programs.
Coordinates and schedules all manpower requirements on shift to assure successful execution of production schedule.
Enforces safety rules and regulations.
Actively provides change leadership as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Understanding of safety, OSHA and environmental regulations preferred.
Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills required.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data.
Ability to transfer knowledge of policies and procedures.
Computer literacy, Microsoft Office products.
Education and Experience
Associate degree, or four to six years' experience in manufacturing and/or management experience, or an equivalent combination required.
Education/Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Control, & LEAN concepts, principles and other analytical tools required.
