The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location ranging from $114,332 - $142,916
Job Summary:
Lead the development and activities of the NWA group to encourage and coordinate the performance of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) which address a defined electric distribution or transmission system need while deferring, reducing or eliminating the need to construct or upgrade distribution or transmission infrastructure. The NWA group will be responsible for regulatory compliance; procurement activities; coordination; evaluation, measurement and verification; and reporting for NWA/NTA (Non-Wires/Non-Transmission Alternatives) resources. Supports the development, communication and implementation of the strategy for Future Utility Transformation. Drives identification, prioritization and realization of Non Wires Alternative solutions and programs, ensuring operational sustainability necessary to achieve forecasted benefits. Drives identification, prioritization and realization of other future utility programs necessary to adapt to significant industry changes, achieving associated business and operational objectives. Works across the enterprise at a strategic and tactical level to drive success in future utility programs and resulting benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning
Supports the development and ongoing review of NWA process and plan development.
Ensures integration and alignment of functional unit planning with enterprise strategy (technology, investment planning, regulatory, etc.)
Monitors emerging trends and evolving technology, evaluating and understanding the implications for inclusion in corporate strategies.
Supports NWA strategy for regulatory rate proceedings.
Business Case Development and Stakeholder Management
Drives identification and prioritization of opportunities and use case assessment.
Supports development and execution of DER related business cases.
Develops and executes strategies to garner internal and external stakeholder support.
Regulatory Filing Support
Performs analysis, business case preparation and testimony in support of regulatory matters, including rate case proceedings in Maine and New York.
Liaises as necessary with state and federal regulatory agencies on NWA related matters.
Program Oversight
Supports the establishment and formation of appropriate structure and resources in support of individual NWA related projects.
Leads or provides oversight of specific projects in the enterprise NWA portfolio.
Oversees NWA project and portfolio performance tracking progress to ensure goals, schedules, budgets, and benefits are met.
Ensures capture and ongoing assessment of benefits realization.
Produces briefings and status reports on a regular basis for local and global Iberdrola executives and, as necessary, regulatory agencies and other key stakeholders.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelors degree required, minimum 7 years relevant experience.
Experience leading implementation of complex initiatives.
Demonstrated understanding of utility operations and customer interaction.
Demonstrated understanding of electrical engineering and/or Distributed Energy Resource planning, implementation, and operations.
Direct experience in data processing and modeling, with demonstrated understanding of power systems analysis.
Direct experience in business case development and benefits capture.
Demonstrated experience in the development, communication and execution of strategy.
Proven track record of achieving results in high pressure and high profile assignments.
Proven ability to work within a matrix environment, including geographically dispersed teams.
Skills/Abilities:
Experienced in the electric utility industry and knowledge of business operations.
Understanding of the Distributed Energy Resource planning, performance measurement and verification, and system impact.
Adept at putting together business cases related to product and service offerings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills.
Must be an articulate communicator and able to explain the company's future utility vision and strategy both within and outside the company.
Possess the savvy to work across organizational lines within the company and influence key internal executives and line managers.
Must be able to support and drive implementation of the agreed upon strategies.
