The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $114,332 to $157,208





Job Summary:




The Manager - Building Projects will be responsible for overseeing major capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects across the Avangrid portfolio. This role will lead the development and management of the CAPEX budget, financial reporting and ensure the successful execution of strategic project initiatives. The individual will also be responsible for coordinating rate cases and maintain all department frameworks.


Key Responsibilities:





Capital Expenditure Management:





  • Coordinate and prepare the annual CAPEX budget plan, revisions and long-term outlook for all Avangrid portfolios.

  • Oversee the management and tracking of the CAPEX budget to ensure financial efficiency and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Develop financial forecasts and provide analysis on budget performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities.




Strategic Project Management
:





  • Coordinate efforts designed to achieve specific, measurable goals that align with Avangrid's strategic plan and long-term vision. For example: green initiatives related to EV chargers, Solar, Bio-Diesel

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success and operational excellence.




Procurement & Vendor Management:





  • Lead the tendering process for frame agreements with engineering, electrical, mechanical, general contracting vendors, and any other department frameworks required

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and optimize vendor selection for quality and cost-effectiveness.

  • Liaison between Building Asset Management and Procurement leading efforts for review and tracking frameworks and RFP progress

  • Identifies and develops reporting for financial requirements




Regulatory & Compliance Coordination:





  • Coordinating all rate case efforts within Building Asset Management, ensuring timely responses for all operating companies (OPCOs) within Avangrid.

  • Work closely with regulatory teams to support compliance with state and federal requirements.





Qualifications & Requirements:






  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field plus minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience in capital project management, budgeting, and infrastructure development.

  • Strong understanding of energy sector projects, including solar, EV charging, and mechanical/electrical engineering.

  • Expertise in RFP development, vendor negotiations, and contract management.

  • Familiarity regulatory frameworks and rate case coordination.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in project management software and financial analysis tools.



Preferred Skills:






  • Experience working with utility companies or energy infrastructure projects.

  • Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency practices.

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification preferred
