Tremco Construction Products Group brings together Tremco CPG Inc.'s Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing and Roofing & Building Maintenance divisions; Tremco Barrier Solutions Inc.; Dryvit, Nudura and Willseal brands; Prebuck LLC; Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc.; Weatherproofing Technologies Canada and PureAir Control Services, Inc. Altogether, Tremco CPG companies operate 21 manufacturing facilities, 6 distribution sites, and 3 R&D/technology sites, and employ more than 2,700 people across North America.


GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Assist in laboratory research and development by preparing and testing coating samples, maintaining equipment, recording and analyzing data, and supporting team collaboration and reporting.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Safety Compliance: Strictly follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Sample Preparation: Preparing coating samples for testing, including mixing, and applying coatings to various substrates.

  • Testing and Analysis: Conduct routine tests on coating samples, such as adhesion, tensile properties, hardness, and record the results.

  • Data Entry: Accurately enter test data excel spreadsheet and organize them in logical order.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Help maintain laboratory equipment clean and operational.

  • Documentation: Record test procedures, results, and observations in lab notebooks.

  • Research Support: Provide support for ongoing research projects by gathering information, conducting literature reviews, and summarizing findings.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with R&D scientists and other team members to support laboratory operations and project goals.

  • Reporting: Report findings based on test results and research to the R&D scientist.

  • Presenting: Prepare a Power Point presentation of the project for the R&D team with your findings and conclusions.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • Applicant must be a Junior or Senior enrolled in a university, pursuing a 4-year chemistry or chemical engineering degree.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 lbs.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:


This internship will run for approximately 8-10 weeks during the summer, beginning in June and concluding in August. The hourly rate for applicants in this position generally ranges between $18 and $23. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
