The Accounting Supervisor reports to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for supervising the general ledger close process of the Company brands in accordance with GAAP. This role focuses on timely process flow and proper classification of transactions and supports the individual brand Finance Directors in areas of financial reporting, cash reporting, and forecasting. The role requires solid GAAP accounting knowledge with accuracy & effectiveness in completing daily/weekly/monthly tasks, while working in a fast-paced environment meeting financial due dates.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with CAG Financial management and staff to ensure general ledger transactions are recorded timely and accurately
Recognize and implement best practices to create efficient processes or streamline existing processes
Develop and implement standard operating procedures for various accounting functions, reconciliation formats and train staff accordingly
On-board existing brands and future acquisitions to common ERP system
Organize and delegate account reconciliation preparation
Identifying tasks that can be transitioned to outside processing (Quatrro)
Maintain relationship with outsourced general ledger activities (Quatrro) to ensure quality of data, accuracy and timely reporting
Review work product of other accounting staff
Identify and resolve open issues with trial balances / general journals / ERP system entries
Support the Controller in all documentation of JE’s, reconciliations and monthly analytics to allow CAG to identify opportunities for outsourcing.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
5 years of financial reporting and general ledger accounting experience.
Bachelors level or higher in accounting
Flexibility in our transition / implementation
Experience with an integrated ERP accounting system, Infor Visual, Infor CSI, Sage, or other ERPs, is a plus.
Manufacturing / cost accounting is a plus
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS-Office Suite and advanced user of Excel a must.
Excellent communication, organizational, and strong analytical skills are required to be successful.
Must be detailed orientated, organized, able to plan effectively, prioritize, and multi-task.
Ability to work in Full-time capacity in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility with travel to other brand locations
