Role description:

Arcadis is looking for a dynamic and talented Job Captain/Project Designer to join our Industrial Studio. Our team offers a holistic approach towards creating innovative and responsive solutions through integrated services in Urban Design, Building Facilities, Transportation Networks, and Systems Technology. Our work is diverse and includes elementary and secondary education, healthcare, laboratories, municipal buildings, justice, maintenance and operations, port facilities, and historic architecture.

Role accountabilities:

• Functions as project lead architect and/or designer with a focus on client relationships, managing the project design team and coordination with jurisdictional authorities
• Oversees design, production, and specifications produced by other project team members
• Maintain control over the overall design vision
• Develops project staff-hours and planning schedule for design phases of the project
• Manages, develops and mentors assigned team members
• May participate in marketing and business development efforts

• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working in an architectural firm with a focus on quality design on Revit based projects. Portfolio review a must.
• Registration as an Architect in a NCARB recognized jurisdiction or in process of pursuing licensure
• University degree in Architecture
• Knowledge of Industrial Architecture Projects
• Strong technical knowledge of building construction and thorough understanding of construction documents
• Proven project and team leadership in visioning, design, synthesis, and delivery roles
• An ability to understand and develop architectural ideas, independently and collaboratively
• Effective communicator (verbal and written)
• Comfortable communicating with clients/consultants on a daily basis
• Ideal candidates must be a team player who is well organized, detail oriented, focused, design driven, accurate and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
