The Critical Systems Engineering team has an immediate opening for a CICS Infrastructure Engineer. This challenging role sets strategy and provides leadership of the CICS environment
This role is also responsible for the governance and oversight of our service partners including vendors responsible for the delivery of mainframe IT Infrastructure services; these teams work closely with the State Street operational teams who are responsible for applications and other platforms. This is an oversight role to ensure world-class, high performance CICS infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the CICS environment is stable, current, and meeting the needs of clients while exploiting new features/functions and services appropriate to overall organizational direction.
Assist developers with application modernization & efficiency and exploitation of new CICS feature/function where appropriate.
Collaborate with CTG users and application teams to maintain currency of product and security of its use
Perform Change management governance including review of planned changes for impact and timing and act as one of the weekend duty managers
Collaborate with application and business teams to understand evolving client requirements and strong ability to explain impact on CICS
Collaborate with service providers to improve mainframe operations & performance
Oversee the Secure Baseline (CICs) /Healthcheck process including results and remediation reviews
Provide direction and approvals for actions and SOPs, change management, configuration management, security, etc.
Support the increasing regulatory needs including responding to audits, providing evidence, conducting DR exercises, performing Cyber vault exercises, risk assessments, identifying and delivering enhancements, etc.
Monitor industry for CICS best practices; make recommendations for enhancements in SSC tools and practices. Identify and plan lifecycle changes.
Education & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technical discipline with a minimum of 10 years' experience with CICS infrastructure
Level-4 troubleshooting skills in a global mainframe environment including experience working with the service providers to ensure effective and reliable operations
Experience using JIRA for creating and assigning work/tasks
Proven customer service orientation
Excellent leadership and exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
PL/1 systems programming experience
Knowledge of CTG
Familiarity with delivering IT services in a financial service organization
Salary Range: $120,000 - $187,500 Annual
