Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in-office 3 days minimum, and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model will be communicated accordingly.
What you will be doing:
Prepare the quarterly and year-end tax provision and tax account balance reconciliations.
Ensure accuracy by completion of tax account reconciliations.
Confirm appropriate application of ASC 740 to all tax positions and significant business events such as business combinations.
Ensure accurate financial disclosures, including anticipation of material items.
Stay abreast of industry practices.
Documentation of tax process controls and tax provision process
Independent auditor sign-off of effective tax process controls
Independent auditor sign-off of accurate income tax accounts and financial statement disclosures, free of material misstatements
Review all representations within the tax returns for accuracy.
Accurate tax return compliance that is timely filed with necessary forms, elections, and statements.
Required documentation maintained to support tax positions.
Prevention of interest/Penalty assessments from tax authorities.
Research tax guidance to determine an accurate estimate and reporting of taxable income.
Review federal, state, and international tax returns.
Review income tax payment calculations and manage the payment of all taxes.
Manage tax examination inquiries.
Research complex federal, state, and international tax issues across a broad range of taxes.
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Excellent multitasking skills, time management and efficiency
Excellent team building and ability to lead a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a relevant field: accounting, business administration, economics, finance
5+ years of tax experience
Skilled with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.,)
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA license
Oracle, Hyperion, Workiva
Experience in consumer products industry, multinational and complex structures, and fast-paced environment
