Key/Essential Function/Responsibility
Commissioning:
Develop and implement commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for construction projects with user groups, subcontractors, and construction team members
Coordinate with design and construction teams to review project requirements and ensure that commissioning activities are integrated into the master project schedule
Manage the commissioning process for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, building controls and other critical systems
Prepare for and manage materials necessary for commissioning process
Work with project team and subcontractors to ensure detailed commissioning schedule is met
Proactively mitigate foreseen constraints and assist in implementing plans to maintain or recover schedule
Participate in job closeout process
Technical:
Manage pre-functional and functional testing of equipment and systems to verify proper installation and functionality
Manage documentation of commissioning activities, test results, and equipment certifications
Collaborate with user groups to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operation
Solution-oriented troubleshooting
Write and track RFI’s and document general best practices and procedures
Submit and track change orders
Communication:
Effectively communicate across disciplines regarding construction coordination and issue resolution
Communicate unresolved constraints and impacts in a timely manner as well as plans to mitigate impacts
Help ensure most up to date project documents are supplied to subcontractors and CxA
Provide technical and procedural commissioning direction to internal and external shareholders
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships to support problem solving and project execution
Effectively lead internal meetings
What we’re looking for in you:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management preferred
7+ yrs knowledge/experience of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with a MEP Contractor, or Commissioning firm
7+ yrs conceptual knowledge of key construction documents and their relationship to construction Project Management and Field Executions
Expert understanding of how design, construction, start-up, commissioning, and turnover align within the project delivery process
Strong understanding of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and interaction testing and turnover requirements.
Demonstrated ability in evaluating risk, schedule impact and safety for quality and commissioning related activities.
Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
Demonstrated ability to take initiative/self-motivated
Ability to analyze and evaluate information to make appropriate decisions
Strong knowledge and experience with MS Office, Bluebeam
