The Role



This position will manage CDK's monthly consolidation process and oversee the preparation of the Company's financial statements and all other Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings. The successful candidate will lead consolidation and external reporting processes while partnering with various business stakeholders, understanding underlying transactions, researching US GAAP accounting and reporting requirements, and supporting M&A activities. Additionally, this role leads the Disclosure Committee process to ensure accurate and compliant reporting. The position carries significant project and process management responsibilities, including active collaboration with multiple functions such as Investor Relations, Financial Planning & Analysis, Legal/Securities Counsel, and Accounting & Finance. The role includes substantial interaction with senior leadership and external auditors regarding reporting matters and supervises two direct reports while receiving support from an India-based team.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities:





  • Oversees the monthly consolidation process

  • Coordinates closely with Corporate Accounting, Field Accounting, and India teams to deliver monthly analytics for the balance sheet and cash flow statement

  • Drives the external financial reporting and related SEC public company filings, such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy, 8-K, etc.

  • Has a strong understanding of relevant US GAAP and SEC (Regulation S-X, S-K, etc.) requirements and keeps current on new developments from the SEC to ensure ongoing compliance

  • Provides training and assistance to the external reporting/consolidation staff

  • Significant Interactions with various levels within CDK including Senior Finance Leadership and various other departments throughout CDK

  • Partners with Investor Relations team to ensure accuracy of the quarterly earnings release materials and alignment with SEC filings

  • Coordinates closely with the external auditors to complete quarterly reviews and the annual audit

  • Ensures accuracy and compliance with internal controls over external reporting and consolidations

  • Partners with Investor Relations to review analyst presentations and other materials, as required, ensuring consistency with SEC filings

  • Monitors for changes and new activities in the Company and the industry to ensure that their effects are properly reflected in the SEC filings and other deliverables

  • Oversees Non-GAAP disclosure compliance with Legal, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Accounting

  • Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned

  • Follow all CDK Global policies and procedures

  • Complete all mandatory assigned compliance tasks and acknowledgements

  • Meet or exceed all performance expectations

  • Hire and train new employees

  • Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks

  • Set goals for performance, monitor employee productivity, and provide constructive feedback and coaching

  • Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises

  • Role model company values and leadership expectations




Required Qualifications & Job Requirements:



  • 10+ years of professional experience, including SEC reporting

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

  • Skills & Abilities: Significant experience with 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K filings

  • Valued experience:

  • Experience with public companies / SEC filers, preferred

  • Open to candidates directly from public accounting, or with a combination of public accounting and industry experience

  • Exposure to software / SaaS / technology companies is beneficial but not required

  • Knowledge of multinational companies is also beneficial but not required

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills both verbal and written

  • Must have strong technical accounting skills and up-to-date knowledge of the latest accounting and reporting standards (U.S. GAAP and SEC Regulations)

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects with competing priorities


Preferred Qualifications & Attributes:



  • Knowledge and experience with HFM or other consolidation tools

  • Knowledge and experience with XBRL filings and Workiva Wdesk (formerly WebFilings)




Base Salary Range: $175,000 - $200,000
