JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for estimating, supply chain development and bid proposal generation for transit rail construction and maintenance projects with a primary focus on meeting or exceeding customer deadline, specification, scheduling, and funding parameters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Responsible for development of detailed estimates, quotes, bids, and proposals based on technical specifications, LB Foster product designs and supplier capabilities.

  • Responsible for reviewing and approving customer and supplier contracts and delivering the appropriate amount of risk mitigation.

  • Establishes a supplier network that is capable of providing high quality products at competitive prices while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.

  • Supplier development and supply chain management.

  • Manage Approved Supplier List.

  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with associated departments. (i.e. Engineering, Lab, Sales, etc.)

  • Corresponds directly with vendors and customers regarding project needs.

  • Works closely with Engineering to provide technical support to sales, customers, and vendors.

  • Generates subcontractor and/or vendor submittals in compliance with project specifications, including engineering shop drawings, lab test data and reports, project schedule, etc.

  • All other duties as assigned. 


EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Engineering, required.

  • 3+ year of experience in an Estimating role, required.

  • 1+ year of experience estimating and preparing bid proposals and quotations to various contractors and transit agencies across the U.S. preferred.

  • Experience estimating multi-million-dollar projects from the date of the initial RFQ to final acceptance of a purchase order.

  • Experience preparing bid packages, completing bid documents, and generating customer quotations.

  • Experience with contract and specification review. 

SKILLS & ABILITIES:


  • Ideal candidate must be mathematically inclined, spreadsheet savvy, detail-oriented, exceptionally organized and time sensitive.

  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize and must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical aptitude.

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

Preferred


  • Bachelors or better in Engineering

  • Bachelors or better in Business Administration

  • Bachelors or better in Finance
