Leads the development and analysis of renewable project performance and standards, selection of approved vendors, review of project design, and equipment selection for company owned and third party renewable and energy storage projects. Provides technical support and review of contractor performance and design submittals. Conducts technical evaluations of renewable and energy storage proposals. Provides technical expertise supporting all phases of renewable and energy storage projects from project feasibility, site selection, contract negotiations, engineering, development, field construction, commissioning, and performance testing. Supports preparation of filings before the PUCN for renewable and energy storage projects.
Develops clear, concise, and accurate reports, standards, and recommendations in support of company-owned and third-party projects.
Leads technical matters of renewable project design and design review for all company-owned renewable and energy storage projects. Prepares interconnection agreements with technical supporting information for all Renewables projects. Works with other internal business units, third party engineering firms and other organizations as necessary to support project designs and interconnection agreements.
Conducts accurate and timely technical analysis of project designs, feasibility, performance, project schedule and equipment selection. Presents the analysis to leadership and to internal and external stakeholders.
Utilizes engineering computations and software to perform analysis and evaluation of renewable energy and energy storage projects.
Conducts field design and quality inspections at active project construction sites. Conducts field oversight and monitoring of commissioning and performance testing efforts.
Supports analysis of third-party performance test results and monitors performance testing. Provides technical support of third-party energy and energy storage negotiations.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in engineering and 6 years industry experience as a practicing engineer. If no PE license, must have 8 years as a practicing engineer.
Demonstrated knowledge of:
Renewable generation and energy storage design, installation, operation, and maintenance techniques.
Regulations and legislation for the state of Nevada. Demonstrated skills such as:
Analytical, interpersonal and communication with regulators, stakeholders, and internal and external customers on technical renewable energy concepts.
Analyzing datasets to understand trends in the renewable and energy storage industries.
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
General office environment. Site inspections of renewable resource installations requires traversing uneven ground, crossing small obstacles such as roof mounted conduits or pipes, and/or accessing rooftops utilizing various types of ladders.
Annual Salary: $103,800 (Min) to $122,000 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
