We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Senior Manager of AI Agent Engineering to lead the development of AI agents for our HR and Finance business. You will be responsible for building and mentoring a high-performing engineering team, driving technical excellence and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable and secure AI agent solutions that seamlessly integrate with our Workday ecosystem and deliver outstanding experiences for our customers.
Responsibilities:
Lead and Inspire: Build, mentor, and empower a team of exceptional AI agent engineers to achieve their full potential.
Deliver Excellence: Ensure timely project delivery of high-quality AI agents that exceed customer expectations.
Innovate and Collaborate: Partner with product managers, data scientists, and architects to translate business needs into impactful technical solutions.
Pioneer AI Technologies: Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG, and orchestration frameworks like LangGraph.
Drive Industry Standards: Collaborate with external vendors and open-source communities to leverage best-in-class AI technologies.
Build Trust Through Security: Ensure all AI solutions adhere to the highest standards of data privacy, security, and compliance.
Optimize Performance: Implement robust testing, monitoring, and feedback loops to guarantee agent performance and reliability.
Scale for the Future: Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of AI agent solutions within the dynamic Workday environment.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with design and development for mission critical systems at scale
5+ years of proven experience in software engineering leadership, with a strong focus on AI/ML and cloud-based systems.
Deep understanding of LLMs, AI agents, RAG, and orchestration frameworks.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Other Qualifications:
Experience with enterprise-grade AI architectures, API integration, and large-scale automation.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Proven track record to seek out and hire the highest performing professionals to build cutting edge products built on AI
Experience with the Workday platform is a strong plus.
Solid understanding and practical experience with software engineering best practices (coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations).
You have a strong focus on delivering high-quality software products, continuous innovation, and you value test automation and performance engineering
You demonstrate the interpersonal skills needed to positively influence important issues or decisions in a multi-functional environment
You have the ability to communicate technical complexity in simple terms to both technical and non technical audiences
Experience supporting team members career growth and development
You put people first and ensure a psychologically safe environment for team members
