Summary of Program

Summary of Position

The accounting intern will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with the Cost Accountant.

Intern Duties & Responsibilities


  • Reconcile general ledger accounts

  • Compute and prepare data for journal entries

  • Research Purchase Price Variance and Order Cost Variance

  • Review purchasing transactions for taxability; prepare sales tax reports

  • Prepare Accounts Receivable reports to review with management

Qualifications

Major(s):Accounting, Finance, or Business. Completion of Cost Accounting Course preferred.

Class Year(s): Rising Junior, Rising Senior,

GPA: Min 3.0

Availability: Must be available to work in Grand Junction, CO full time during Summer 2025 and part time for remainder of school year (local candidates preferred)

Technical Skills: Strong Excel and Keyboarding skills

Leadership Skills: Effective Communication, Attention to Accuracy and Detail, Excellent Analytical and Problem Solving Skillsets, Time Management

The pay range for this role is $23/hr. to $25/hr. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity. The anticipated close date of this job requisition is:  April 14, 2025.

This position requires the use of information subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). To conform to U.S. Government export regulations/ITAR, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

The pay range for this role is $33,280 - $66,560. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity. The anticipated close date of this job requisition is: April 14, 2025.
