Description:

RedTown Technical Services, LLC has a full-time opening for an Administrative Assistant at the U.S. Army Garrison Kwajalein Atoll (USAG-KA) Reagan Test Site (RTS) in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. This position requires relocation to Kwajalein Island.

This is an unaccompanied, single-status position. The IRS considers Kwajalein overseas employment, and employees may receive significant tax benefits. Benefits of a single status position on Kwaj include:

  • No US federal or state taxes (local income taxes are 5% Marshall Islands per year)
  • Company-paid studio apartment type housing (employee pays for internet ~$95/month)

Kwajalein Island is similar to a small town in the US but in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. For example, although there are medical and dental facilities, they are not comprehensive. Kwajalein Island has a population of about 1500 people, with a broad range of activities available ranging from water sports such as scuba diving, sailing, fishing, soccer, softball, and various other local clubs and organizations. All candidates must be in good enough physical condition such as to not require routine, extensive medical treatment. All candidates must pass drug testing and a physical prior to deployment to Kwaj. All candidates must obtain an interim security clearance prior to deployment to Kwaj. This position is at the Kwajalein Weather Station.


Duties

  • Provides high-level administrative support including:
  • Provide staff support in various areas as needed.
  • Use computers for various applications, such as database management or word processing.
  • Become proficient in the use of existing government property management software packages.
  • Performing various clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, assisting with travel orders, assisting with inventory, and quality reporting.
  • Set up and manage paper or electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or maintaining documents.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications/Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED—some college is a plus.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
  • 2 years of previous administrative experience required.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • Proficient in MS Office packages including Word and Excel.
  • Good communication and writing skills.

Desired:

  • Experience with government property management.
  • Experience with Equip property management software.
  • Possession of a current security clearance.
  • Current Kwaj resident.

Salary Range:

$17-$20 per hour


Work Environment

  • Kwaj has a tropical climate with wet and dry seasons with little daily temperature variation.
  • Most work will be performed inside.
