Responsibilities
Identify & evaluate production cutting end users based on media sources, trade shows, and knowledge of the industry; prioritize end user sales opportunities driving growth in assigned territory.
Analyze customer requirements, establish benchmark vs. competition data, demonstrate to customer performance of Bahco blades; provide cost per cut analysis and /or benchmark results for end users.
Create & deliver product training or sales presentations to both internal and external groups incorporating samples, catalogs and highlighting features/benefits of products and services, in order to close the sale.
Perform 12 point inspections & testing for blade performance at customer locations using end user saw machines.
Interact with, train and coach end users on safe and proper use of products.
Communicate product performance, price and supply information to distributors and end users.
Negotiate sales and contracts within allowed parameters; manage renewal of annual contracts; maintains relationships with purchasing contract managers.
Provide customer support by following up on orders, delivery dates, warranty claims, and other customer needs.
Coordinate with appropriate resources to resolve customer issues with delivery, product availability, application or quality concerns.
Prepare, track and submit required sales plans, expense reports and other sales tools required by manager.
Provide input to internal or distributor marketing programs or campaigns as requested.
Analyze territory performance, submit expense reports and complete all other general administrative duties required.
Qualifications
BA degree in Business or Marketing and /or equivalent work experience preferred; associates degree in machining or other technical area, a plus
Minimum 3-5 years outside sales experience in industrial environment required; prior sales experience working with distributors and/or agency reps, a plus
5 years' experience in sawing industry preferred
Prior technical training in metals, metallurgy, cutting tools is required; previous experience working as machine operator, a plus
Mechanically inclined and capable of operating / adjusting machines; technical knowledge of metal cutting tools and other equipment
Must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of an organization
Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated and sales driven
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
Position requires overnight travel (50% to 75%) to meet with customers, distributors and / or end users
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
Must hold all credentials or requirements needed for assigned customer accounts
