We are searching for a dynamic and tech-forward leader to join our team as the Director of eCommerce. This role is crucial in driving Retirement Strategies’ financial performance, customer satisfaction, and service excellence culture. The ideal candidate will excel in fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders in Sales, Relationship Management, Operations, and Technology to leverage technology for process improvements, and maintaining strict accountability for cost center performance. This role requires strong negotiation skills and a strategic mindset. This position contributes to advancing our service delivery through product, technology, and transformation initiatives, enhancing the purchase experience for customers, financial professionals, and employees.  

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid in Shelton, CT, Newark, NJ, or Dresher, PA. Virtual Applicants will be considered on a case by case basis

In This Role, You Will Be Accountable For:   



  • Execution of strategy across APIs, B2B support, and Industry initiatives  


  • Representing and driving company focus with Key Strategic Partners and Vendors  


  • Chief internal B2B support owner for Relationship Management identified priorities  


  • Monitoring and Soliciting Firm / Partner feedback and driving for successful outcomes   


  • Negotiating agreements with existing and new technology providers  


  • Establishing an API Support Model while enhancing the existing Vendor Support model 


  • Performance and talent management of team  


  • Point of contact for sensitive issues / escalations  

  

What you’ll need:  



  • Operational Excellence & Leadership:  Expertise in overseeing day-to-day operations. Has an established record leading teams, including leaders of leaders, while raising up talent.  Has the ability to inspire and motivate to meet/exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).  


  • Relationship Management:  Exceptional relationship-building skills with key stakeholders in Sales, Relationship Management, and other critical business functions.  Is capable to serve as a senior contact for leadership, and can present in large forums as needed (100+ attendees). Understands needs of constituents and creates a “one team” culture that ensures connectivity internally and externally. Acts as the accountable executive for material escalation management and acts decisively. 


  • Financial Acumen: Knows how to manage cost centers with defined financial targets and can make data-driven decisions surrounding near and long-term staffing, forecasting, and capacity planning. Prioritizes review of existing and new work orders and agreements, long-term vendor forecasting, and where and for what budgeted expenses are being incurred. Has a fiscal discipline mindset and eliminates waste in unnecessary expenses with vendors. 


  • Technology and Process Improvement: Has a tech-forward mindset and is passionate about driving towards industry modernization and innovation while working through legacy platform modernization. Experience with API deployment, issue resolution, and maintenance preferred. Experience with industry solution providers such as DTCC, iPipeline, Hexure, and Zinnia preferred. 


  • Industry Representation and Thought Leadership:  Ability to represent the organization in industry forums and working groups, ensuring alignment of industry objectives with company strategy; examples include Insured Retirement Institute, Operations Manager Roundtable, and DTCC Advisory Council.  


  • Technology Forward: Stays abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions that allow for improved client or advisor experiences and/or scalability. 


  • Change Management and Continuous Improvement:  Strong change management skills with the ability to identify and drive organizational changes that enhance customer and employee experiences.  Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing effective solutions.  


  • Negotiation and Contracting: Experience with reviewing and negotiating technology contracts for services, capabilities, and platforms to include MSAs, SOWs, RFIs, RFPs with an eye of balancing key factors such as risk, delivery, budget, KPIs, and issue resolution.  


  • Communication and Collaboration:  Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with front-line staff, clients, leadership, and key stakeholders. Exhibits strong decision-making and problem resolution skills while working in a fast-paced environment.  


  • Problem Solving: Critical thinking and decisiveness in managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.  


  • Educational and Professional Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree required with Master’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience considered.  Series 6/7, Series 63, Series 26 FINRA Registrations preferred.  

  • Up to 10% travel may be required.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $152,500.00 to $206,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
