The Department of Pathology has a long and rich history of excellence in clinical service, training, and research. Our physicians and scientists are experts in a variety of subspecialties in anatomic pathology, laboratory medicine, genomics and molecular pathology, investigational pathology, and immunology. Our diverse faculty study and diagnose patient disease and medical conditions using state-of-the-art methodologies.



Job Summary

As a Research Analyst, you will perform research focused on epithelial barrier regulation; this work will include mouse models, organoid models, and epithelial cell culture. Emphasizing the growth and banking of organoid models and cell lines; physiological, cell biological, and disease modeling; and drug testing - ultimately, this research is expected to lead to the improved understanding of multiple disease states, with a particular emphasis in gastrointestinal diseases. As an integral member of the team, you may also collaborate with other laboratories and faculty members as well as with other research scientists at various levels of training within the home laboratory.



Responsibilities



  • Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.


  • Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.


  • Installs, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.


  • Maintains recruiting and scheduling research subjects; assisting with developing or amending study protocols; assisting with developing data collection tools; assisting with building databases; and providing general administrative support. Has general awareness in research techniques or methods, regulatory policies and procedures, and relevant scientific field.


  • Performs other related work as needed.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Biological Sciences or a related field.





Experience:



  • Experience with animal studies.
