This is a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in nutrition. Duties will include teaching a range of undergraduate and graduate courses; participating in the planning, review, and evaluation of the nutrition & dietetics programs; demonstrating effective scholarly productivity and collaborating with faculty in areas of research, outreach, and pursuit of external funding. Salary to commensurate with qualifications and experience relevant for the advertised position.
What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities:
Teaching undergraduate courses in Nutrition and Dietetics
Research and grant writing - Pursuing a research agenda that results in publications and extramural support.
Service - Providing service to the department, college, university, and profession.
Advising and mentoring students.
Key Competencies:(KSAs - Knowledge Skills and Abilities)
Ability to translate knowledge to essential practice skills for the entry-level nutritionist and registered dietitian nutritionist.
Provide instruction as assigned in nutrition courses per academic year in different modalities, including in-person or online.
Develop/revise online nutrition courses utilizing the Quality Matters review process.
Participate in the planning, review, and evaluation of the bachelor's and master's in nutrition programs including certificates and concentrations.
Develop, implement, and monitor student performance outcomes through ongoing assessment.
Advise and mentor nutrition students.
Report to the program coordinator of the DPD and/or the program coordinator of the MS in Nutrition program on curriculum and course issues and report to the Chair on all other issues (e.g., personnel, assignments).
Collaborate with other departments and units across campus.
Serve on appropriate Departmental, College, and University committees and other areas as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift 25 pounds and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings.
Job Conditions:
Provide lectures in face-to-face courses and online.
Work within the department office to support the department, college, and university mission focused on the success of our on-campus and online students.

Minimum qualifications include an earned Doctorate in Nutrition.
Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Required.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, professional service, and research excellence.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills needed to work with students, staff, faculty, and administration.
Commitment to create and sustain a culture of student support and success.
Involvement in professional organizations within the field of specialty.
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Prior teaching experience at the college level using both face-to-face and online course delivery.
Experience with ACEND requirements in academic coursework.
Practical nutrition & dietetics experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
