Job Title:Administrative AssistantDepartment:Arts and Sciences | Spanish and Portuguese

The Departments of Spanish & Portuguese, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks an Administrative Assistant to join our team.



The Administrative Assistant under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies to coordinate daily administrative operations, and provide a broad range of administrative support for the faculty and staff of the Department of Spanish & Portuguese; participates in OSU training and professional workshops for continued professional development; coordinates daily management of the main office, student workers, and office equipment and supplies; coordinates departmental communication and social media for faculty, as well as graduate and undergraduate program initiatives, partners with ASC Tech and Communications to maintain best practices ; coordinates design and maintenance of the departmental website and serves as main contact for updates; responds to inquiries from students, faculty, and the public; collaborates with faculty to organize and award departmental scholarships and undergraduate testing initiatives; works with staff as assigned by supervisor to work on projects , identify best practices, and implement process improvements to promote efficiency in the departments' operations.




Minimum Education Required

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent




Additional Education Desired

Bachelor's Level's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience




Minimum Qualifications:

One (1) year of relevant experience in using computer systems including Microsoft Office.




Desired Qualifications: Experience in Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Illustrator, knowledge of web-based ADA compliant procedures and design; knowledge of university policies and procedures; excellent customer service and organizational skills

Additional Information:

The pay range for this job profile is $18.17 - $23.90. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
