About This Role:
The International Student Compliance & Recruitment Manager oversees compliance with federal regulations related to F and J visas, ensuring adherence to immigration policies and procedures. This role involves serving as the primary resource for international students and scholars, providing guidance on immigration matters, and managing SEVIS data. Additionally, the manager supports international student success by coordinating programs and events, advising students on personal and academic issues, and collaborating with stakeholders to address challenges. Furthermore, the manager assists with study abroad initiatives and supervises student workers in support of these efforts.What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities:
International Student Outreach:
Serve as the primary liaison with the recruitment team in Enrollment Management
Meet virtually with admitted prospective International Students
In collaboration with the Executive Director of International Education & Services and other recruitment team members from Enrollment Management, develop an annual marketing and recruitment plan.
Remain abreast of global, local, and national trends related to international student recruitment.
Identify, recruit, and develop relationships with overseas high schools, universities, and student recruitment agencies.
Travel to recruit international students at area community colleges and overseas to implement marketing and recruitment strategies
Conduct marketing presentations at secondary and post-secondary institutions, student recruitment fairs, and individual meetings with prospective students, parents and agency partners in person and virtually.
Follow-up by email, social media, and other communication means such as WhatsApp, zoom, skype, etc. to ensure that connections with prospective students, parents, and agency partners produce student applications and enrollment.
Assist with keeping track of all data associated with their recruitment trips
Post recruitment trip, submit written report on market trends, student and partner agency concerns/needs, for use by Lamar University to improve student outreach and recruitment plans, services, and retention.
Organize individual and group meeting schedules, and campus tours for delegation visits l. Provide input in the revision of the Lamar University website, marketing materials, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media specific to targeted student markets. m. Maintain up to date knowledge of LU programs and services
Compliance:
Act as the Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for the Department of State and Designated School Official (DSO) for the Department of Homeland Security on all Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Academic Training (AT), and Optional Practical Training (OPT) related cases.
Interpret F-1 and J-1 visa regulations to ensure compliance and provide counseling and advising support to international students and scholars.
Assist students in obtaining F-1/J-1 immigration benefits and process I-20s and DS-2019s as required.
Serve as a resource on immigration regulations, policies, and practices to faculty and staff.
Assist with check-in and SEVIS registration.
Contribute to the development and presentation of specialized workshops and programs related to immigration.
Assist in the maintenance of various database systems associated with assigned duties and responsibilities
Review, analyze, and keep current with federal regulations and procedures affecting international students and scholars.
Key Competencies:
Proficiency in using computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, social media, digital marketing, and email.
Knowledge of and experience with student development and student success theory.
Understanding and applying federal regulations related to F and J visas, ensuring compliance with immigration policies and procedures.
Proficiency in managing SEVIS data and maintaining accurate records for international students and scholars.
Ability to provide guidance on immigration matters, personal, and academic issues to support international student success.
Skills in organizing and coordinating programs and events that enhance the experience of international students.
Effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders to address challenges and support student success.
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate and work with international students.
Excellent public speaking and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work with Via-TRM, ISSM, CRM, or relational database programs preferred
Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift 25 lbs. and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.
Job Conditions:
Must be able to work from the office and provide face-to-face customer service with OIES clientele.
Must be able to use a computer, telephone, copier, and printer
Must be able to lift, move, or carry individual documents and paper boxes as part of the records retention process.

Bachelor's degree required.
Three years of progressively responsible management experience of teams and projects, preferably in international education, immigration services, or student outreach.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in business, English, Marketing, Psychology, International Relations, or related field.
Three years of experience with a proven record of student recruitment.
Two years of full-time experience in an international education office.
Fluency in foreign languages preferred
Experience traveling, studying, or working abroad
Proven experience in developing systems and strategies and making data-driven decisions
Experience in a position requiring planning and representing an organization, teamwork and communication to achieve results.
Demonstrated experience with student outreach and student success
Experience using a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, social media, and email.
Experience developing print and digital marketing materials
