Job Responsibilities

Trident Technical College's IT-Enterprise Services department is looking for a highly technical and hands-on System Administrator Manager to lead the Enterprise Services Operations team. This position requires strong leadership skills along with extensive technical expertise in enterprise system administration, cloud technologies, and ERP integrations. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team while also taking on complex system troubleshooting, integrations, and security tasks personally.





Key Responsibilities:


Technical Leadership & Team Management


  • Lead, mentor, and support the Enterprise Services Operations team, ensuring efficient workload distribution, professional development, and performance management.

  • Actively participate in troubleshooting, system maintenance, and upgrades alongside the team.

  • Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork across IT departments.

  • Systems Administration & Cloud Management


  • Oversee and personally contribute to the installation, upgrade, and configuration of enterprise operating systems(Windows, Linux, Unix).

  • Maintain cloud-based (Azure/AWS/SaaS) and on-premises IT services, ensuring security, uptime, and performance.

  • Administer and enhance the college's ERP system, ensuring security, monitoring, and operational efficiency.

  • Maintain system integrations and connectivity between ERP and third-party applications.

  • Security, Compliance & Disaster Recovery


  • Implement best practices in cybersecurity, access control, and data governance.

  • Lead disaster recovery planning, backup management, and business continuity strategies.

  • Budgeting & Vendor Management


  • Prepare and manage the annual IT operations budget.

  • Evaluate and procure IT services and vendor contracts, including cloud solutions and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Interpersonal & Communication Skills


  • Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear project updates and system statuses.

  • Translate complex IT concepts into user-friendly explanations for staff, faculty, and vendors.

  • Provide documentation, training, and guidance to improve IT knowledge across departments.

  • Maintain professionalism and diplomacy in high-pressure situations.
  • Minimum and Additional Requirements

    This position requires a bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, computer science (information technology), mathematics, statistics, management information science or a related field and experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Ideal candidate will have preferred qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in enterprise IT operations, including system administration, networking, and cloud-based services.

  • Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud technologies.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, Unix, and/or SaaS-based environments.

  • ERP system administration experience (Ellucian Colleague, Workday, PeopleSoft, etc.).

  • Certifications (e.g., MCSE, AWS/Azure Administrator, Linux+, PMP, ITIL).

  • Formal project management experience with Agile, ITIL, or similar methodologies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
