The Category Manager is accountable to define and execute the global strategy of Weatherford IT and Digital spend. The strategy includes the support of governance, policies, and operational safety and efficiency. You will be managing commercial, contractual, and operational relationships at an executive level.
As the Category Manager, you will sit on-site in Houston, TX and coordinate with Corporate and the different Geozones to implement the global strategy, including all sub-categories linked to IT and Digital. Create, plan, develop, and implement long-term partnerships with stakeholders and suppliers in line with group strategies. Be responsible for sourcing and executing Source to Contract. This role is to be a business partner, maximize value, support innovation, digitalization, deliver savings, and monitor performance.
Be comfortable running complex RFPs, challenging partners on specifications, timelines, quality of service, and other potential bottlenecks. Accountable for data analytics, market analysis, improvement plans, supplier performance management, as well as identifying and successfully developing relations with new suppliers. This role negotiates the agreements for the Goods and Services for Corporate, globally and regionally, to reduce Total Cost of Ownership, cycle time, and improve quality. This role will report to the Director, Indirect Procurement.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesOPERATIONAL CAPABILITY
Subject Matter expert/stakeholders to influence, assist with business decisions.
Close collaboration with the key stakeholders, define and implement global technical, commercial, and contractual standards to support the implementation of the defined strategies.
Define and implement Performance improvement plans to maximize the Supply chain value.
Participate in the business budget review to identify opportunities and be aligned with the stakeholders/businesses.
Ownership and accountability to perform spend analysis to establish a detailed view of the current spend segmentation for assigned categories to drive strategy with an intimate knowledge of the supply market, key dynamics, and latest drivers within a category.
Develops relationship management strategies by which suppliers are evaluated, selected, and managed in accordance with established guidelines and best practices.
Support and guide businesses as a subject matter expert to adopt best practices into their environment.
Accountable to communicate timely, clear, and concise information and recommendations related to category award decisions to Leadership.
Accountable for reviewing contract performance with the Tier 1 suppliers.
Works with all relevant parties in the consolidation and rationalization of the Supplier base.
Evaluates, manages, and reports Regional/Global performance indicators related to emerging spend & movement, cost, quality, and delivery.
Establishes a culture of results and continuous improvement to define the function's best-in-class status.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT
Undertakes necessary training to enhance process excellence and the ability to improve overall performance.
Provides onboarding and training support, mentoring, and development of sourcing team members.
Experience & EducationREQUIRED
Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.
Certified Purchasing Professional CPP, CIPS, CSPC, or CPM a plus.
Legally authorized to work.
10+ years of experience in a similar position with growing responsibilities in IT and DIGITAL.
Deep experience with the IT and DIGITAL world.
Demonstrated track record for closed collaboration with stakeholders and delivering significant and measurable savings in a global, large, and fast-moving organization.
Ability to interact in English and other languages.
