Job Description:

SUMMARY


Receive various assignments from the Drafting Manager, project managers, and engineers. Develops detailed design and submittal drawings and related specifications for fabrication and mechanical equipment. Provides assistance to project engineers and managers on their assigned projects.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.
• Aid project managers and engineers in estimating jobs, pricing materials, and making cut lists to obtain prices on materials and outside labor. Aid project managers and engineers on-site in obtaining information and sketching projects.
• Sketch rough layouts of machines and compute angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, and location of holes.
• Use computer-assisted drafting equipment and software (CAD) to develop accurate submittal and fabrication drawings-update drawings based on comments from project managers, architectures and after field dimensions are taken. Accurately estimate and communicate work schedule and completion dates.
