Oversee daily operations of structural and marine work, ensuring that the construction team meets quality standards and project deadlines.
Manage, supervise, and coordinate the work of crews and subcontractors, ensuring proper staffing levels and smooth operation.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other superintendents to plan, implement, and adjust project strategies.
Ensure that all structural work complies with project specifications, codes, and industry standards. Take corrective actions for any deficiencies or quality issues.
Enforce all safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety meetings, training sessions, and site inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules for structural work, and report on progress, delays, and potential issues to management.
Help manage the structural portion of the project budget, tracking costs, controlling expenditures, and ensuring resource optimization.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to delays, design challenges, or material shortages.
Conduct on-site inspections to verify all work is in compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, change orders, and other essential documentation.
Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure expectations are met and issues are addressed promptly.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Relevant experience in Lieu of a bachelor's degree
Minimum of (10) years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
Strong knowledge of structural codes, building practices, and construction management software.
Proven experience in managing large construction teams and coordinating multiple subcontractors.
Strong understanding of safety regulations, particularly OSHA standards.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical documents.
Outstanding leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
