Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Field Engineer with a background in tunnel construction and at least 3 years of hands-on experience in the field. The ideal candidate will work alongside a dedicated team on various tunnel projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality construction in accordance with engineering specifications.
Responsibilities:


  • Project Support: Provide on-site support for tunneling operations, coordinating between project management, construction teams, and subcontractors.

  • Technical Expertise: Assist in troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues related to tunnel construction, including excavation, lining, ventilation, and safety systems.

  • Site Management: Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.

  • Quality Control: Oversee quality control of tunnel construction, including the installation of tunnel linings, reinforcement, and utilities.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare daily field reports, track progress, and ensure accurate documentation of site conditions, materials, and work completed.

  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety procedures and provide guidance to workers to prevent accidents and ensure safe working conditions in the tunnel.

  • Collaboration: Liaise with senior engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to maintain the project's timeline, budget, and technical quality.

  • Field Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of tunnel work to assess the quality of workmanship and adherence to project standards.

  • Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve any issues or delays in construction activities, ensuring minimal impact on the project schedule.
Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in tunnel construction or related civil engineering projects.

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with tunneling methods, geotechnical engineering, ground support systems, and tunnel excavation techniques.

  • Software Proficiency: Knowledge of engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, or similar) is preferred.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to handle complex issues in the field and collaborate with the engineering team to find solutions.

  • Certifications: OSHA or other safety certifications for construction sites are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with tunnel boring machines (TBM) or other tunneling techniques.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling and cost estimation.
  • Familiarity with modern tunneling materials and methods.
