Position Summary
The IT Systems Analyst will play a critical role in supporting and optimizing the business applications and technology platforms that power my client's operations. This position is responsible for providing advanced technical support for key business-line systems, analyzing user and operational needs, and recommending or implementing scalable solutions that improve efficiency, data integrity, and end-user experience. The IT Systems Analyst will work closely with department leaders, vendors, and other members of the IT team to troubleshoot complex application issues, configure systems, manage data workflows, and support system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
Business Application Support
Provide support for business-critical applications across departments (e.g., CRM, scheduling, contact center, billing, reporting).
Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and integration issues, including those involving data syncs, automation failures, and system workflows.
Serve as the application subject matter expert (SME) for supported platforms, including training and supporting power users and departmental leads.
Manage user provisioning, roles, permissions, and access audits across platforms.
Coordinate with vendors or development partners to escalate issues, deploy fixes, or manage change requests.
Systems Analysis & Optimization
Work with internal stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for new or updated system functionality.
Analyze existing workflows and systems to identify inefficiencies, risks, or improvement opportunities.
Translate business needs into functional specifications or user stories for technical implementation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate system options, recommend solutions, and test enhancements or integrations.
Create process maps, data flow diagrams, and documentation for current and future-state workflows.
Own and manage the change management process for all line-of-business applications, including communicating planned changes, managing stakeholder input, coordinating UAT, and documenting release notes or configuration updates.
System Configuration & Data Management
Perform advanced configuration and customization within supported systems (e.g., workflow automation, form design, custom reporting, field mapping).
Manage small-to-medium system improvement projects from analysis through deployment and documentation.
Support data quality and integrity efforts, including data validation, de-duplication, and integration alignment across platforms.
Training & Documentation
Create and maintain system documentation, user guides, process documentation, and change logs.
Deliver one-on-one or small-group training sessions for new users or updated features.
Provide input for IT knowledge base articles related to supported applications.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with the application business owners to align system capabilities with organizational goals.
Proactively identify opportunities for automation, improved reporting, and process simplification.
Stay current with system updates, product releases, and industry best practices relevant to supported platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of experience in a systems analyst, application support, business analyst, or similar technical-business hybrid role.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent additional experience and certifications).
Proven ability to support and administer multiple business applications, including troubleshooting and system configuration.
Ability to manage and document current and future-state workflows and translate business needs into functional specifications.
Experience working with specialized line-of-business (LOB) applications, including learning new platforms quickly and supporting teams with limited vendor documentation.
Experience working with tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, or similar platforms.
Experience working with SaaS applications and APIs; comfortable navigating application settings, data structures, and workflow tools.
Experience with process mapping, data flow modeling, and tools such as UML, BPMN, Lucidchart, or similar.
Experience with reporting and data analysis tools (e.g., Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Tableau).
Proficiency in Google Workspace, including advanced use of Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Admin Console for managing users, groups, and shared resources.
Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to create clear, organized technical documentation, training materials, and user guides for diverse audiences.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Solid project coordination skills, including task tracking, meeting facilitation, timeline management, and progress reporting for small to mid-sized projects.
