Pay Rate: $21.00/hr on W2




Daily Schedule:

• Shift options:




• Tuesday - Saturday, 11 AM - 8 PM EST


• Sunday - Thursday, 11 AM - 8 PM EST




• Training: 3 months from 8 AM - 5 PM EST (1-hour lunch).

Position Purpose: The Authorization Specialist I supports prior authorization requests, ensuring all submissions are addressed properly and within contractual timelines. This role assists the utilization management team in documenting authorization requests and obtaining accurate, timely documentation for services related to member healthcare eligibility and access.



Key Responsibilities:

• Perform data entry to maintain and update authorization requests in the utilization management system.


• Assist the utilization management team with tracking and documentation of authorizations and referrals per policies and guidelines.


• Contribute to the authorization review process by documenting necessary medical information (history, diagnosis, prognosis) for clinical review.


• Stay current on healthcare authorization processes, policies, and procedures.


• Perform additional duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or GED required.


• Entry-level position; minimal prior experience needed.


• Understanding of medical terminology and insurance is preferred.

Candidate Requirements:

• Must be able to work weekends.


• Must have experience in data entry and customer service.


• Understanding of prior authorization processes is a plus.
