Volt is immediately hiring for an Environmental Technician I in South Gate!

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify, label, and manage hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.
Implement and maintain Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan practices.
Inspect waste containment areas daily and maintain inventory.
Operate and maintain the Hilco unit, including daily checks and logbook entries.
Handle non-reclaimable oils and ensure proper disposal.
Keep work areas clean and free of oil.
Ensure waste drums meet weight and safety requirements.
Maintain inventory of specialized oils and reorder as needed.
Coordinate with vendors for oil tanker pump-outs, trash, and recycling pickups.
Perform environmental sampling and minor equipment maintenance.
Required Skills:
Read and interpret safety and operational documents.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Perform basic math calculations and apply algebra and geometry concepts.
Solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
Hold a Hazardous Material Handling training certificate and forklift operator license.
Have OSHA 1910.120 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
High School diploma or GED, or five years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Full Time Opportunity
1st Shift, Mandatory Overtime (10-12-hour days)
Hourly Pay $19-$25
