Our client is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist in New Jersey.
Role Description
• Contribute to achieving the annual goals and objectives of the Cell therapy Development organization as well as Integrated Attribute Sciences group.
• Contribute to routine and non-routine testing requests of CAR T products including testing, analysis, and basic interpretation of characterization data to support product clinical development for FDA filling purposes, manufacturing investigations, and life cycle management product development support, as needed.
• Contribute to the development of fit-for-purpose characterization methods to support CAR-T product CMC data packages, the acquisition of deeper understanding product biology, and support mechanism of action studies for CAR T cell programs.
• Assist with early qualification studies of analytical methods to support pipeline assets characterization.
• Individual will contribute to process/technology improvements and to scientific/technical data review and writing (e.g., regulatory documents, protocols, etc.)
• Interfaces with other team members within CTAD group to ensure seamless flow of information for assets for the cell therapy organization.
• Contributes to the communication of scientific finding via presentations within the functional area.
Skills & Requirements
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in the in the Life Sciences or Engineering field (biology, immunology, cell biology, engineering, chemistry, or related field) is required.
• Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of current or previous academic and/or industry laboratory bench level experience in product development of CAR-based cell therapies or related field.
• Master's Degree with 2+ years of current or previous academic and/or industry bench level experience in product development of CAr-based cell therapies or related field.
• Experience in handling and maintaining primary cell culture and mammalian cell lines.
• Basic scientific background in understanding and performing cell-based assays and technology readouts.
• Experience with standard in-vitro assays, assay development, assay optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with some experience writing internal documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Direct experience in CAR T cell therapy preferred.
• Basic technical understanding of CAR T cell analytical methods and evolving technologies
• Firsthand experience with cellular biology techniques and cell-based assays, including but not limited to flow cytometry, Incucyte, MSD/ELISA based assays, sterile technique, metabolic assays.
• Ability to work within established protocols and, when necessary, optimize methods and protocols.
• Basic understanding of drug development process in an industry setting with clear examples of success.
• Basic understanding of early, late-stage, and commercial drug development process.
• Mindset focused on continuous improvement, actively seeking opportunities to enhance lab efficiency and safety.
